I think of the early days of Brooklyn Bethel. I remember Shane with a walkie talkie around his wrist, a big smile. He worked with Standish Cleaning, and I worked with a different cleaning crew. But his kindness was unforgettable. Fast forward 20 years or so, and we worked on how to track the status of vaccinations for covid during a pandemic. He was brilliant, could think things through. But I loved his modesty and the humble way he would not insist on a solution. He was loyal to the organization and eager to support those taking the lead. And he was a shepherd, always ready to express loving interest and concern. These just scratch the surface.
Brilliant and Modest
