Don't Cross My Rode

Shane loved sailing and everything to do with it. He had a phase where he liked to say “Don’t cross my rode” meaning ‘don’t cross my anchor line,’ because it can sink a boat it another vessel snags their anchor line. It means, ‘don’t get in my way.’ He’d say it watching NBA when there was a messy play right below the net. And then he’d say how he hated watching the little guys get underneath the big guys below the net. Because they can take their feet right out from under them.
