I remember in the winter of 2022, Healthcare Department had a Gala in the Warwick Lounge. Shane was so excited to tell us that Vanessa was wearing the cocktail dress that she wore at their wedding 19 years earlier.
I also remember when I spent a day at the Helen Hayes hospital with him while he was recovering from his accident. He talked about how much he loved Vanessa and what a good wife she was. Our hearts were touched. I also remember that he called her “Cheekies.” And how happy Vanessa was seeing him write Jehovah’s name again and say their first family prayer.
